    Smoker of meats and herbs
Awesome grill. Best deal for a ceramic grill/smoker I've seen anywhere.

I bought grill originally for smoking pork butts and brisket but find my self grilling everything on it now. It really is amazing at how well these kamado's cook. The quality of this Primo at least to me was the best of all the ones i was able to see locally including BGE and KJ. If your lucky you can pick up one of these all in one grills for the price of the just the BGE with out stand or plate setters. It really is the best value I found. I also find that you can easily cook for 10 to 15 people with it.

Great product. Grill itself is awesome. Side shelves are good. A little trouble getting the, to lock in. The meat and fish smoked on grill is awesome.

Paint was defective on the handle. One of the castors broke the second time I pushed the lock. The seller was great and helped out. The grill designers seem like they had good intentions. There have been some upgrades since the instruction manual was made. Looks like they welded some places that used to require bolts. The poor paint quality is the bummer. I expected better for this price range. The grill does work well. Its very large. It holds heat well, smokes well at low and high temps. I burn lump hardwoods and they seem to burn well for grilling and smoking. Also the grate came with instructions to be careful not to crack the porcelin, yet it came cracked and the tool they give you to pick it up cracks it more all the time. Some flaws. Hope it lasts thats all. I should mention that the firebowl and grill itself are heavy duty and thick. That part seems great and well made. Yes thats a jr next to it.

I have had my XL oval Primo for approximately ten years. It is featured in my outdoor kitchen by half submerging it through a precise hole cut in my granite countertop; therefore, I would be unable to replace it with any other grill.I love to cook on it! I've used it for smoked butts, steaks, pizzas, hot dogs, hamburgers, vegetables--just everything. I highly recommend the Primo to anyone wanting a ceramic grill.Problems: similar to other reviews I have read, I've had mold several times. It's old enough that I have replaced the seal tape once, so I figure a good seal should not be the problem causing mold. I've replaced the cast iron grate once; it'll rust and deteriorate over time. I'm due for another replacement and am searching unsuccessfully so far for a replacement. My main problem is the firebox. I am on at least my fourth firebox. They tend to crack and completely separate at virtually the same place each time. Thank goodness they were all under warranty at the time of cracking. I just installed the fourth one (maybe fifth?) this weekend after the last one cracked after only four uses of the grill after installation. Primo Warranty has been excellent in servicing me on this, however they have been charging me $90 for shipping. I complained last time about the expense of shipping after only four uses and this last one they shipped for free--and I am grateful!I recommend purchase of the Primo grill, but I would be careful to document installation with photos and keep pretty good records for warranty purposes.

We went from no grilling to grilling almost every weekend. It was easy to setup (you need 3 people for sure).

I love my Primo, usually cooking on it 3-4 times per week. I also love tums, which may be related. Any way, this grill holds temperature very well, enabling you to cook for hours without worrying about adding coals or whether or not your meat is under or overcooking. It is a very flexible grill, I have used it for pizza, steaks, pulled pork, ribs and even macaroni and cheese. My only issue with the Kamado is that it doesn't have a firebox divider similar to the ovals. This however isn't a deal breaker for me. I also prefer Primo over Big Green Egg because they are made in America. For info on how to use the Primo or BBQ in general, check out my blog: [...]
